Truth about negative thinking

I feel the need to share what I have learned over the past few days. Something about it hit me hard, and I have a feeling it could change my life. Maybe it can change yours too.

Here is the simple truth: our subconscious mind does not understand the word “no.”

A simple example of this (I think I heard it from Simon Sinek) is: “Don’t think about a pink elephant!” The moment you read that, your brain immediately starts thinking about a pink elephant.

The main takeaway for me is this: focus on positive things and on what you actually want. When we spend our time thinking about things we dislike or hate doing, I believe we invite more of that into our lives. In my own experience, that has been very true.

As soon as you don’t have clear goals, it becomes easy to focus on what you hate about your current situation, even though your energy would be better spent thinking about your future and the things you want to do or create. I believe this can be a crucial part of how our minds shape our lives.

Stay awesome!
