Selling
Selling may be the single most important skill in the modern world. You sell yourself, you sell your products, you sell your time. Even when it comes to finding a partner, selling yourself plays a role.
Itās interesting to see how some countries are better adapted to this and much more confident about it than others. So much so that they now sell us courses on āhow to sellā and make money from that, too.
This topic came to mind because Iām not a natural salesperson. My usual strategy has been to wait and hope that someone will eventually find me and my work. Over the years, Iāve learned that this almost never happens.
But finding your own way of selling isnāt easy. A way that doesnāt feel pushy. A way that lets people know they need what you offer. Because most people donāt actually know what they need.
Maybe selling isnāt really about persuading at all. Maybe it starts with understanding yourself and your work, and then simply helping others see what you already know. And maybe the most powerful way of selling is helping people.
